Thought I might share some more photo's as I progress through my Buffing and Polishing project. I have almost all of the polishables off. I am going to do the engine while it is still mounted on the frame, but everything else is off or will be soon. I plan on leaving just the jugs and heads on the engine. The carb\manifold\rocker boxes\pushrod tubes\tappet blocks etc. are already off.
The Aluminum is pretty corroded so I have to machine buff them to bring them back to their previous luster. I may take the motor out if I can not get it done to my satisfaction on the frame. Thanks Again for the inspiration!
First 2 photo's show how pitted the belt cover was behind the pipes. Yes I left some of the gasket on so that you could see that this was the same cover throughout the process. That and the fact that I was too lazy to scrape it off.
The Last 3 photo's are after buffing and polishing:
