Broken K9 LE Exhaust bracket

Yes
I repaired one for FiveFive
You will need to go to some rubber grommets to ease the stress on the bracket so it won't break again.
Could weld a plate on top to keep it from breaking again so you wouldn't need grommets..

Looked like it wasnt lined right at the pipe bracket causing the break.......I agree with some kind of bushing......... little welding and a powdercoat job...

I had two of these damn things break. the first one broke a couple days from home (Sturgis 2010) and I was able to duct tape it to get home. my welding guy thought the part was too light so I had a steel one fabricated from regular cold roll (it was kind of ugly and I never bothered to get it painted or chromed).

in the mean time I located a second "original" and decided to put it on thinking the first one may have been defective or on a bind. the steel one went in the parts box and was almost forgotten.

no problem for a couple years of light riding but on the way to Sturgis this year the second one broke at sioux falls south Dakota. i called home and had the steel one sent over-night fed ex and i had it 8;00 am the next morning. made the switch and caught up with my group later in rapid city.

the stock part is weak in my opinion. i don't know how to put a grommet(s) on it and even then, it is one of those things that can leave you sitting.

my advice---get one made from steel stock and never have to worry about it. just my 2 cents, chuck
