IMAG0153.jpg Here is the pic of my super G this is on a 2007 mastiff. No adjustable air bleed 'WTF"?
So I did remove the bowl vent and put the 78 main back in. The test ride went much like the other, same old same old. I think I may need a 33 intermediate jet.
any other thoughts? Oh yeah the air cleaner is pointed forward:bang:

I just like my Freedom
FWIW, my super G is the same. Drilled air bleed which is a .040. I'm gonna pull mine this winter and have it sent in to have the adjustable air bleed put in. S&S told me to find a S&S dealer and they can send it in for the rework. I've had a issue tuning mine also, did a complete rebuild and it runs better but still have some popping and sluggish acceleration issues. I'm running the DM Spike facing forward also. I can't turn mine vertical on the Pit. I'm running a 32/78. Seems to be the closest I can get. Anymore or less makes it worse. Keep us posted.

Just throwing this out there, does the bike have a Pingel or other inline gas filter on it?

The latest.. I installed a .033 int.jet and .080 main. Still the same issues.
Could it be that the coil is going bad or could it be the ignition???

I think you are right Andrew. I rode it some today it actually got worse. Going back to the .032 and .076 or .078. Any advice on replacement parts for the ignition and where to get them?

Get hold of Daytona TwinTec. They have the best products on the market today in my opinion. Change out the entire ignition, and it's actually a good upgrade as well. But, before you invest any money on that, have you checked all your connections to make sure it's not a simple wire issue? Also check to make sure the CPS is clean. Easy to pull from front of case near oil filter and inspect.

Andrew I checked / cleaned the CPS it looks good. I have an electrical issue now, the headlight has defaulted to high beam only. I found one bare wire in the head light bucket and spliced it. that worked for a while but now it defaults again. Going to try to chase it down tomorrow if I can find the time. The two issues my be related. Never the less I will upgrade the ignition system after i get to the bottom of this.
Thanks again. I will post what I find.

Here's some basics. We build performance S&S carbs all the time for the BIG DOGS and this is what we use: .033 intermediate jet, .078 main and .060 main jet air bleed.
Adjust the idle mixture screw to about 2 turns out to avoid decal popping. Adjust accelerator pump screw so it has one thread showing thru carb casting.
Popping thru carb at a steady hwy speed in usually a lean condition, intermediate jet too small. Need more info email me.
