Did your bike get wet recently, like rain or you washed it. If so, it could be that water got to the circuit board on the hand control. You may want to open that up and see if everthing in there is dry and that the wires didn't break off the circuit board. Good Luck

There is a small black sensor/pickup do-hicky in the control housing that is connected to the circuit board with a couple wires. I think that's for the brake lights. It has to be in the right position for the brake lights to work....I think.

There is a small ceramic magnet in the brake lever that will come into close proximity of the sensor that is connected to the circuit board in the hand controller when the front brake lever is pulled. If the sensor gets loose and vibrates away from the magnet or if the magnet breaks off it will cause the brakes lights not to work from the front hand brake lever. You can take a small magnet and stick it in close proximity where the sensor is and check to see if the circuit board/sensor is bad and you can look into the slot behind the lever with a light and see if the magnet is broken. Hope this helps.

Check under the back fender and see if you might of split any of the wires, it happened to me and effected everything.

Happened on my '04 Mastiff years ago, it was indeed the magnetic sensor. Replaced on warranty by BDM and new one promptly broke. Ignore it and enjoy the ride, just light 'em up with your rear brake and you"ll be OK.
