Brake bleeding?

What is the best way to bleed the brakes and or replace the fluid?

My manual says to replace the fluid at 10k but I just replaced my lower controls with the Chrome tribal kit and I have to disconnect the brake line.

What is the best way to replace the fluid and bleed the brakes?

I did a search but didn't find much

get a syringe and some clear plastic tubing that will fit one end over the syringe and the other over the bleed nipple and put the fluid in that way. Once it gets to the MC just top up the mc. Thats the way I do it and its quick and easy.

Sears sells a simple syringe kit like Lee mentions for only a few dollars.

Thanks, I was wondering where I was going to find a syringe.

I also replaced the base the levers go in that has the master cylinder in it. I bought the Chrome tribal kit BDM offers.
It's nice because if you just buy the levers you have to have a piece pressed into them because chrome plating changes the tolerance just enough to make it a PINA.
The new Chrome kit comes all pre assembled

You can also just fill it from the top down, and wiggle the lever until all the bubbles rise out of the tiny hole - but it does take awhile. I was about to give up when all of a sudden it tightened right up.

No, I've seen them in the stores in the tool section. Like $20 bucks. Simple plasitc pump unit.

or ebay. hundreds of them on there. get a 30 or 40 ml...something like that. When you do it this way (bottom up) you only need a couple of quick bleeds and the job's a good un

if your looking to replace do the same but have a second syringe to suck the old out of the master cylinder.

if you want to get the most out of your brakes take everything apart, flush, blow dry, flush, blow dry then install motul RBF 600. :up:
