thinking of doing seat conversion was looking at one on here and i seen a strap holding battery down witch mine does not have have any homemade suggestions

if you still have the tabs that hold the strap on there, I would get a new strap, pretty cheap and easy to find. Otherwise, bungy or a belt, dog collar, etc...
