Jim, one thing I don't know if Doug mentioned was to run a tap in the threaded holes and a Die over the screws to remove the old Loctite, If you don't it will effect your torque values when you put it back togetherAwesome Doug is going to send tool out Saturday. Have to get some parts ordered. LOVE THIS FORUM! and everybody on it.
Not sure if I mentioned that in the how to, great point though..Jim, one thing I don't know if Doug mentioned was to run a tap in the threaded holes and a Die over the screws to remove the old Loctite, If you don't it will effect your torque values when you put it back together

Here is a tip. You can change those without removing anything.Maybe you might have one of those O-rings pinched. I didn't have any problem with them when I did mine but I did pay particular attention to seating them. Its very easy to check them unless 1 got cut with the top of the tube.
We use the o-ring glue all the time on the tugs and dredges. never thought about it on the motorcycles. Here is a tip. You can change those without removing anything.
If you take a razor blade and cut the oring. Then use super glue to glue it after you place it over the push rod/tube.
Note this is commonly how large Orings (like our primary are made) from cord stock.
I have done this many times, and it works very well.
