We have all enjoyed Daves hospitality at the farm for the the last several years. But as we know this all comes at a cost.
Dave does this for us every year and asking for anyone to contribute is the farthest thing from his mind. He truly busts his ass making this event the best it can be for all those in attendance. That being said...
I ask myself every year, what can I do to truly help Dave with this event. What can I do to ease the burden, what can I do to truly help carry the load.
So I over the years have come up with a few small things I can do, but my contribution pales in comparison to what he goes through each year.
I asked myself what could I do that would have the biggest impact on helping out?
I came to the conclusion that not only can I do this but so can everyone who attends the event.
For all those who attend please consider a Voluntary Financial Contribution
You may not have an Idea of how much to contribute to the event.
Below are some guidelines and suggestions.
Remember you are giving out of the kindness of your heart, no one will be putting you on the spot, I am not asking for a list of names and financial commitments from anyone.
Just keep in mind that if you had to make accommodations in the NWA area for bbq what would the cost to you amount to.
Then donate according to what your heart motivates you to give.
Keep in mind the meals provided what would they cost you and the ones in your group. Then give accordingly.
If you bring your RV you know what it cost to stay at a campground nightly you know what they charge for a spot with utilities. Then give accordingly.
What would it cost to attend such an event. Then give accordingly.
What would it cost to keep your trailer in a safe secure environment. Then give accordingly.
Please keep in mind the costs that go on behind the scenes that none of us are aware of. Then friends, please give accordingly.
Finally ask yourself "If I satyed at a campgournd that provided me with all Im provided here, would $10.00 or $20.00 pay for nearly a week of water and eletric?"
Be honest with yourself and show your appreciation in the realistic amount you give.
Just something to think about...
Their was a local dirt track or as some call it a roundy round race track here in our area a few years ago that shut down due to lack of funds.
I personally talked to the owner as I heard of rumors going around that the track wasnt going to be open much longer. He told me that it cost $10,000.00 every friday night to turn on the lights for a one night race. I was shocked!
Maybe he was exaggerating maybe he wasnt I dont know, but one thing I did understand clearly was even a bunch of rednecks racing around in a dirt circle every friday night wasnt free.
In this day and age nothing is free someone always pays.
So when you ask yourself as I did, what can I do to ease the burden to ensure that this event continues.
You can support by paying your way and not leaving that burden up to anyone else.
I strongly feel as Im sure if not many most all of you agree, we all need to pitch in and do our part.
It should not be left to one man alone to shoulder all the responsibility.
Make no mistake Dave considers all of you family, and gets one hell of a kick out of yall showing up each year.
He himself has no issue at all with doing what he does, he loves to do it and has never asked for anything in return.
He truly has a huge heart and a genuine love for those who attend, he gets joy and happiness from see all of us have a great time.
If you know Dave at all, then you know your comfort and happiness is his top priority when he puts on one of these events.
He never turns anyone away and always says all are welcome.
Doesn't that make each one of us want to show him this same kind of love and respect that he so graciously shows us year after year.
His dedication, among others these last years and contributions both physically and financially should motive us to consider: No matter how old, or young, whatever our health condition or situation may be, the best way we can help is by contributing financially to the event we all so much enjoy.
Let your hearts be your guide, but please remember to donate with a true sense of what is provided to you free of charge. Keep in mind what that truly costs.
Again this is kept confidential out of respect for all. If you have any questions or want to make a monitary contribution, please feel free to contact me now or at the event.
There will be a box for donations at the farm in a descrete location.
In closing, please join me in doing our part to support Bikes Blues & BBQ at Daves Farm 2019
All your feedback is welcome and certainly appreciated.
Again I want to make crystal clear that this comes from me myself and I, no one else has asked me to do this or has approached me suggesting anything of the sort.
Additionally keep in mind those who you bring with you please let them know that this is a free to all attend event and voluntary contributions are most certainly appreciated and accepted.
Thanks for your time and consideration,
Big Daddy
