bike stalling

Heres another post , I hope someone can help me , I am trying to sell my 04 Pitbull but Im having problems with it and need to get it squared away to sell.

Battery is good and I also have the smart ehc and that checks out , it starts and will run for less than a minute then it just stalls and will not start again until it sits for a while , I tried starting it with the choke open and without starts but then dies and when I try to start again it seems like its flooded, I haven't had it out since fall and I am not sure if I put any stabilizer in it until now , I called my tech and he seems to think the carb might need to be cleaned after hearing that I put stabil and fesh fuel in it and been starting it a few times a day for the past 3 days, it seems to be better than it was but still stalls, does that sound like stale fuel or maybe the carb needs a cleaning?? any advise would be appreciated!!!

best way to find out is dump the gas, drain the carb bowl, add a little fresh gas and see what happens. also make sure air filter is good. there an idle adjust and mixture screws but i wouldnt recommend playing with them until you know you have good gas and running and normal operating temp

I added fresh gas but didn't drain it I will drain the bowl as well, never thought of that, I also checked the plugs they are fine and roved the air filter for now.

just an FYI, that "choke" is actually not a choke, it is an enrichener, which dumps extra raw fuel into the carb which will quickly flood it out. but you say the plugs are dry, think i said it before, but check to make sure the gas cap is venting.

Its cold here today so I just went out and took about 4 cups out of the carb bowl and quickly put the bolt back in , cleaned it up and started it again and this time without the enricher at all it started like it has been but it ran for at least five minutes without stalling and I shut it down for a few then started it again and it idled for at least another 5 minutes , fuckin awesome!

I will put some more fresh fuel in it tomorrow after work and see what happens then , seems like its fine now though and Tom I took the plugs out the other day and yes they were black probably from using the enricher to much so I cleaned them up and they look cool now slightly tan colored.

You know I wasn't even going tyo put this post up because Ive had so many post lately but Im glad I did , you guys are awesome , I don't know what I would do without you and everyone else on this site!!:2thumbs: :flag:

:2thumbs: awesome man wouldnt hurt to run a little sea foam in a fresh tank either i suspect. been there myself a few times

proper starting procedure: if it has been only a few hours/days, key on, 2 twists of the throttle, and then run-start. if it doesn't start, repeat.

if it has been 3-4 days or more, increase to 3 twists the first try and then down to 2 if you need to repeat. the enrichener is only for extreme cases and then it should be turned off as soon as it fires.
