Bike quits in higher RPM

K-9 (2300 miles) quits periodically when I tach up 3500-4000 range. Complete power failure, speedo works. After I pull over and go through the start up routine, it'll start every time. My guess, is the ignition switch vibrating enough to switch off. Anyone have the same problem? Suggestions?

How many keys do you have hanging off your key ring? I have only 1 key on my ring and the ring is attached to my spark plug wire. I havent had a problem since:2thumbs:

Only one key on the key ring and leg has plenty of clearance. Put it in the shop last fall, mechanics couldn't duplicate the problem but they had a blast beating the shit out of it.

just a guess... ignition switch short? Vibrations at high speeds might get it to rockin. Might want to get a new one if that is the culprit.

BIG HOUSE had the same problem exactly with the HID kit in his bike. Later after I racked my brain trouble shooting the HID, he told be his Speedo was messed up and in a few days it was going in under warranty to have it swapped out.

After the new speedo was installed, last I talked to him, everything was all good and back to normal. You might PM him.
