Bike OOC... No Leesburg for me

So, I went to adjust my clutch pushrod and while down in that area I noticed my pulley was in worse shape than I thought and that it was tearing up my belt! ... Just as I thought it couldn't get worse I noticed a "crack" in my exhaust bracket... as I started to take the bracket off to weld it, I realized it wasn't a crack, it was broken right through the bolt hole!

Well, I don't have the money to send the Pulley off to SuperMax right now so my ride is down... relegated to the car or truck to get work now.

Welcome to V&H BR brackets! Sorry!

I think that they all break due to the harsh vibrations, at least mine have.
Just re-weld and re-drill and make sure to bolt it back up solid!

Good Luck! :2thumbs:

Looks like you may have been running that belt too loose. I don't think SuperMax is back up and running yet either. Tampa BD should be able to hook you up though.

The pipes are Hooker Troublemaker Darksides... hooker 1st sent the wrong pipes, then after the right pipes came in and were installed they developed a crack in them, and now the bracket broke (it's already been welded up).... I think I know why Hooker isn't making bike pipes anymore

The belt may have been lose, I'll check to be sure... but the truth is I knew the pulley was being eaten up for a while now (a post months ago to Ray about how he got his replaced under warranty). BD wouldn't replace the pulley and the bike was under a year old. BD Tampa does my work for me and I'm sure they tighten the belt everytime they replace that big back tire.

As for SuperMax, I've talked to Vyvynn and she says they are up and running. They run the machine shop every other week and take pulleys by appointment only.... just don't have the $$.

How much play should there be in the belt? Travis, Shannon, Ben, Tank and Mike (before he left) from BD Tampa have all seen my bike often and never said a word.... it doesn't look sloopy.... enlighten me (if you would), on all things "belt"....

Thanks!
