Bigdog ECM - EFI Map Data Merge

A "How To' video to understand Bigdogs ECM-EFI learned map data merging to the base map and more.

S&S recommends not to merge the base more than several times. Each merge has a tendency to blend or somewhat average the map data. Too many merges can cause functional and performance problems.

I was curious about your rev limiter set up. What was the reason for setting it to 10k? Is that what Tom recommended?

Hi Mike,

Tom's (Ground Pounder) reasoning (via S&S) was by raising the rev limit from factory 6250 RPM to 10,000 RPM is to allow the ECU an extended data reach on the map past the original factory set rev limit of 6250 RPM or so. He says in the video that by raising the rev limit the ECU will be able to reach more extended map data even at the 6000 RPM area. I'm not sure.

Personally I rarely get near that RPM and raising the rev limit on my bike and others may not be needed or a good idea. I might drop mine back to a safer limit.
