big dog k9 eletrical problems

i have an 08 k9. had motor redone. put bike bak together and ran great for 2000miles. all of the sudden starter would not stay engaged. replaced starter and battery. got it started and found regulater is bad. have not replaced yet because starter seems like its not getting enough power to stay engaged long enough to start. kicks in and out. any idias?????????. can text me any time with help. im Ed 2623555336 or email henrywincell@yahoo.com

Welcome from Washington State, hope you enjoy the site. How did you check the voltage regulator? Did you perform the A/C check? :cheers:

:confused:07 K9 got wet a couple of weeks ago and lights started flashing even with the key off, then parked it and went to crank it last night , nothing, battery has 13v. no lights nothing. help!

Well, if the VR is bad and starter just clicks, it sounds like a flat battery. If the VR is bad why wouldn’t you replace it? Test if the battery is OK first. bad VR might have overcharged and boiled your battery. BTW do you have low beam working? Overcharging tends to blow the bulb…
