BIG DOG BACKREST PAD

slide the backrest and up the sissy bar with the hardware attached but somewhat loose. When it is in the proper position, tighten down the screws on the bracket and that will hold it in place (for the most part). Check the tightness regularly or drill and tap a set screw to make sure that pad doesn't loosen up and fall off.

And let your passengers know it's not an adjustable back rest. While going 60 mph one of my passengers thought the backrest wasn't as comfortable at its current height, and proceeded to slide it down. Next thing I know, she's yelling in my ear that the backrest just fell off! :bang: I went back and picked up the back rest, but was none too happy about it. :job:

I have never seen that type of mounting brackets on a Big Dog.

I would consider up grading it to one of the BDM back plates.
