Well as an electronic technician I can tell you that you can if you do it properly because they do make a high voltage wire. I have run that setup for 2 years as well as others on a different forum. To each his own, I was just throwing in my experiences.

Besides, with the correct ballast and bulb combo, it will fit inside the bucket, and not have to take the chance.

The wire needed to run 20,000 volts up the backbone would have to be bought at a NEON Sign Shop and the wire is 3/8" diameter. Basically the same copper core wire used for spark plug wire but it is GTO 20KV-40KV rated. A big hole would need hogged out of the back of the headlight and the wire will look like hell running under the tank and up along side the frame neck gusset. That is the only wire that is safe enough to use.

You do realize that the 20k volts are only for a brief period. Its entire job is to ignite the bulb and from there it runs off 35 watts at very low amperage. The wire does not need to be heavy duty but it does need to be a rubberized insulation for the voltage.

They still put out 60 Volt -120 Volt after start up. Wire needs to be a minimun of 14 awg GTO.

Guys I got a bulb from Lena. Did not mean to open a can of worms. I am not going to drill a hole in tha back of my bucket. Looks over function for me.

Sweet, those bulbs Lena is selling are great bulbs for the money.

I sold a ton of them for the import cars back when I had my shop.
