Ya, it was the closest call I've ever has without actually going down, bike was a couple feet in the air and my ass was way off the seat, it was a miracle I didnt get ran over or go down, cars were swerving all over the place as there were more than one of them in the road.

Damn dude! glad your ok....my dad hit a guys brand new clothes dryer in the box that fell out of the back of the guys truck while doing 65mph.. about 8 years ago in AZ. while he was riding his Harley....he didn't go down either...but it broke his ankle and sprained his wrist...scared the shit out of him...it bent the frame and fucked up the front end,so they totaled out the bike....that was his second bike accident...after that he said he was done...after riding for 30 years...as kornfed said....amazing how people don't secure their loads.....
we use to call my dad the "Maytag Mauler"

"Maytag Mauler" I laugh everytime I hear this story...

Dave's dad said he was thinkin... "boy I hope that box is empty" just before he hit it and found out it wasn't...

And people wonder why I always secure the shit I load up.

GLad you're ok Thumper169. I think I have a shop link on my pc at home for bent rims... I'll try to remember and post it up as well.

Glad your ok Thumper, when I rode across country in 05 on my new Chopper I was in OKC riding through rush hour traffic and a car in front of me hit a rubber block that goes between the guard rails and the posts. I was able to deflect around it so that my tire didn't hit it but it did hit my shifter peg and went under the left side frame rail kicking me way up in the air. I got it over to the side of the road and there was shreds of rubber all along the frame rail but no other apparent damage that I could see. Several months later I was having some oil leaks and the shop replaced the oil lines and we found the SS sheathing on the lines was separated. I figured it was cause from that rubber block I had hit. Here is a pic of the lines.

Glad you controlled the bike after hitting that 4x4. Some people wipe out from just hitting a pot hole!! :D

I've done it with a heavy brass drift and a mallet. I guess it depends on how bad it is. Did the tire lose the seal? I'd pay someone to do it professionally, it's a pain in the ass to not scratch the wheel up, and if it doesn't hold the bead you gotta go back and start all over. If you can find a local shop that caters to road racers or stunters, they will know someone.
