Bed liner on bottom of frame

I, like many of us here, regularly drag my frame on corners, going in and out of parking lots, gas stations, etc.
Bottom of my frame is really scratched up. No rust but a lot of bare metal. Thinking that bed liner on the bottom 1/3 or so of my frame would help protect ita bit. Anyone try this? How did it hold up? Also I'm not sure about spraying so close to the ground. ... bad angle. Do they make bed liner that could be rolled or brushed on?
Let me know if you have other ideas.

I would just sand, prime and paint to prevent rust. Use a 2k clear on it so it last longer. No matter what you put under there as soon as you scrape loading it on a trailer it will come right off.

I also have often considered coating the frame`s lower rails with some roll-on asphalt bed liner, and I also thought that like the BDM coating it would just be scraped off. It seems we must face facts and remember that our chops aren`t museum pieces and that they can be repaired/repainted. Enjoy your Big Dog. I am riding and cherishing a well designed chopper which not too many riders have. Think about it, we have the best looking and running machines out there! IMHO.

Agree 100%
Still I might try the bed liner to help protect against rust.....

I've been thinking about attaching a thin sheet (.020") of stainless steel with a structural adhesive. It would only need to be .5" wide to cover just the bottom of the frame rails and at that width wouldn't be seen unless you were on the floor looking at it.

Thoughts?

I wish I had more money.
I don't see why a guy wouldn't try it if he were looking for something like that. It actually sounds like a very good idea as long as you could get a good seal so it wouldn't hold water.

HEY

Get your ass up off the floor and quit looking under there, no one else does. :2thumbs:

Naw seriously mine has been scuffed several times, I don't sweat it. The rest of the bike looks so nice. If it starts to rust, I'll sand paint and scuff again.
