I was checking some craigslist ads and i came across with a good deal $9000 for a 2006 pitbull with some accesories, plus stock parts etc.

2006 BIG DOG PITBULL

Luxury Auto Salvage | Orlando, FL

The ad has local phone number and website , 1800 number etc so i called the number on the ad and somebody answered, i made some questions regarding the bike, everything seemed real also i asked him about the price, he told me if i pay today he would let it go for $7200, (OTD delivery included). So i told him ok you got a deal, i can pay you today BUT i prefer to pick up the bike myself. He replied ok but is has to be tomorrow because they are almost closing for the day and it will take like 2 hours for me to get there. ok i replied to him no a problem i can go tomorrow.

BUt at the same time he said, in order for me to give you this price at leats you have to give me a $1000 dep via paypal, i agreed and requested the invoice with the vin # and all the details, he sent me the invoice, when i saw it i realized that the vin#*is not real of course i didnt send the money, just waited until the following day.

Next day he called me and asked about the deposit, i told him dont worry i will be on my way to Orlando in 10 mins, just give the address of your dealership, he said the bike would be $9k because the $7200 was yesterday price, i replied dont worry i will pay the $9k cash just give me the address, he said you know what, the bike is in New york on its way to orlando also im out of town you better send me the deposit to hold the bike for you, when i asked him about the vin # he just hung up.

I just wanted you to share this experience because those scamers are getting more sofisticated, just be carefull.

yeah I had a similar experience with a truck on Autotrader that seemed like the deal of a life time. It was the same bullshit. I told him I was only willing to fly to him and make a deal in person and suddenly the truck was in California, not Ohio bla-bla-bla.....
Bottom line is NEVER let go of ANY money before the item is in you possession. And if it sounds too good to be true, well Ya'll know the rest.
