i was told by the investment firm they hired that they were looking for 5-10 million in capitol from multiple sources or one source. this was back in December when the news first went public about the firm being hired to try and help the company. of course i am sure its more now, or maybe the number they gave me was not accurate. in any case. the purpose of this capitol was to fund expansion into foreign markets and to fund current growth in the product line. the problem was and still is. there is no way to see when there will be.... if ever there will be??? a return on the investment. so its like please invest "xxxx. xx" amount of dollars into my business because we love motorcycles and want the company to succeed. but i dont know if you will ever get that money back or if your investment will make difference other than keeping our doors open another year?? there was just too much doubt due to the CHOPPER TREND BOOM not really being much of a trend anymore. and investors for the most part realized that. its the passion and love we have for the bikes and the american business that makes us try and consider investing in the company or trying to help. however there comes a time when you have to be realistic and tell yourself the truth. right now its just a slow burn, but there is just not enough sales to keep up with a business that size. too much overhead, inventory, expenses etc.. all that with not enough DEALERSHIPS TO SALE PRODUCT(MOST HAVE CLOSED OR WILL BE CLOSING, OR ARE OPEN BUT ARE NOT SELLING ANYTHING AND PRAYING FOR SALES). BANKS TO LOAN MONEY TO RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE THAT CAN PAY IT BACK,people that dont need to be financed wont spend money on such toys as such due to the large depreciation. and the list goes on. i am impressed that the company is still open now. as well am impressed that BOURGET is still going. their bikes are insanely priced twice as much as the big Dog product line. at this point the economy is just tanked. and there is no remedy for it. i think if there were more optimism about the economy turning around then investors would take a chance, due to love for the company and its bikes. but with the current and future economic conditions there is not a lot of hope for a investment return soon or later in the future. its great that there are those of us in the market for new big dogs are going to purchase them. myself included, however that is not enough to turn the company around. it helps slow the bleeding but its still a open wound.
