Battery Terminal Hot

Maybe I'm noticing this more on the Big Dog since there has been so many issues but the + terminal on the battery gets hot enough to melt anything close by, At thunder beach it melted the + post off a Big Boar 350cca.
I replaced that with a 270, took the Baker Firestarter 2.4kw out and reinstalled the original starter.
Cables appear good, tight, ground looks right, just way too much heat..

Skip...sounds like you have a bad connection....it shouldn't generate so much heat that it's melting stuff....if it's the positive terminal than I would check the connection from Batt to Starter make sure you have good contact surface at both ends and there tight

Don't forget the ground cable at the starter mount. Also check the charging system output, should be 13-14 volts.

The end of this story is I orderd some Terry 4 guage cables only to realize $80 later thats what I already had.. I Put them on anyway, eliminated the spacers and stacking of wires and all seems fine, time will tell..
Now if that loctite will just keep the battery bolts tight.
