Battery Removal 08 Pitbull

Can anyone help me figure out how to remove the battery strap on my 08 pitbull? I cant get it off and I dont want to break it. Anyone know any tricks?

Hey Chief, you referring to the rubber strap with the hook on the end? If so then you just need to pull it up from the opposite side stretching it for some slack and work the hook out. It won't break.

No rubber strap. Steel strap with nut on end.

Chief. Remove the side covers (battery box side cover) and you will see the threaded bolt connected to the battery strap on the bottom. Here is the fun part. You will need a gear wrench or patients to remove the lock nut on the strap. Hope the picture helps. I tore mine out with a hammer, chisel and wont be putting it back on. the dam battery has nowhere to go anyway.....zero room for it to move in there.

I have the same bike. You have to take the side cover off. Still not sure why it's even there? Mine dosen't move at all.

The rubber strap held well and easy on/off and would accomondate various batteries. Why go to a difficult steel strap?
