I am not sure about the maximum amps but my Braille puts out approximately 700 CCAs.

Go to your nearest Harley dealer and get a softail battery, bring in your old one and have them compare the size and ask for the max cca they have and you should be good to go. I run Harley batteries in all my scoots with no issues...

What he said.
HD AGM batt and keep the bike on a batt tender. Also make sure all wires are clean and tight. Also its easy to check to make sure the VR is putting out 14 volts or better when the bike is running. The last battery I purchsed at the HD dealer was like $129.00. I to took my old one in and they matched me up a new one.

why do you guy's keep advising people to keep their batteries on a tender? Theres absolutely no reason to have your battery on a tender all the time under normal conditions.

Too many issues can occur when the battery is low. With a fully charged battery, you will save yourself the headache of tracking down problems. You don't want the EHC to fritz so why take chances with something as simple as plugging in the tender when you kennel her at nite?? Just my random thoughts....

I agree, I rotate my tender around to each bike. I have noted the Genius will charge the battery and then cut back the voltage to approximately 12.8 which makes me comfortable with leaving it on. I did have a battery tender and I forget the brand which fried a battery due to failure of the tender I assume so in the trash it went. I need to check out what the Battery Tender Plus does so I don't worry about it being connected all the time.

I can see a monthly maintenance program if you dont ride your bike much, but to suggest to anyone a battery requires a nightly charge is just plain false information.

Yep, unless one of my rides sits for more than 1 to 2 weeks then I put it on a tender before I ride her. I think putting a tender on every night when riding every day may be covering up another issue. If it has a computer or something that slowly drains the battery, it is worth placing it on a tender so your ride is ready when you are.
