My 2003 Big Dog Chopper started having some chatter in 4th gear. I decided to pull the top cap of the baker (6sp overdrive LSD) and the housing where the clutch cable goes into and do a complete flush on the trans. Come to find out I had lots of shavings in there, and then I find a little needle roller bearing in my drain catch pan. Also noticed some of the gears inside have some pretty good chips and nicks on the teeth. Looking for the best alternative. Baker rebuild gearsets are ridiculously priced at roughly 3k not to mention u have to buy the bearing/gasket kit then. I literally just bought this bike less than 2 months ago and did all the maintence in my gatahe. Only has 16k on the odo. Is there a more cost effective way to go versus rebuilding the baker??
Was thinking an ultima trans should bolt right up since my 2003 is an old evo style primary. Also found lowbrow customs sells cost effective transmissions.
PLEASE HELP
