Backfiring from front cylinder and plug fouling

Having some real issues with the 2001 pitbull. It is backfiring out of the front cylinder between shifts when getting on it. Will not do it when I quick shift it. It only does it out the front cylinder and will also backfire through the carb. Additionally, it keeps fouling plugs, I believe, after a few days. It will start to surge and then just die. I will try to start and it will just turn over and not want to start. It can sit for a little bit and then start but will surge unless plugs are changed. Plugs are not black. It has a new coil and wires so any thoughts would help. This us frustrating and just hoping you guys had any ideas before I take it to the shop. The carb on the bike was also adjusted properly. Please let me know any suggestions.

Additionally, I still cannot get the signals and rear brake lights to work. I checked all wires and even pulled wires from the handlebars to make sure there were no kinks. I can get them to light up is I run a jumper from the battery to the inlet of the plug when it is off the harness. I am assuming it us the ehc. I bought a used one off eBay in hopes this would help. I talked to wire plus and they do not make one for this year and there are no alternatives. If the new ehc does not work, I am just going to hard wire them direct.

It kinda sounds like you may have a leak on your intake. You may also want to do a compression check just to make sure it's not something internal, like rings or valves/guides. You said it's fouling plugs but they are not black. So, what do you mean by fouling? Maybe a pic of the plugs would help.

Originally I did see a black plug with a lot of carbon on it. However, lately they are not black and don't have the deposits. However, I can put new plugs in for a while and then it does again so I assume the plugs are fouling.
