Axle Grease
rijbak; On this one I`ll have to agree with Mad Dog. The use of a waterproof/synthetic grease would be a good call here. Even if you try to avoid rainstorms and are sparing of the water at wash time the axles are not easily dried off and water washoff is a really bad thing. If the auto parts shop in your area doesn`t have waterproof synthetic, try and see if any marine grade syn`s are available. they will work just as well. This is a good question and remember not to use too much on the axle itself - a light smear all over the axle is enough. Don`t forget to pack the bearings and if any of them even seem to have a problem REPLACE IT , and don`t forget the seals for a bearing failure with a wheel locking-up is a very, very bad situation. Bearings and seals are rather cheap comparitively. IMHO.
