i went to northern hydraulics and bought a right angle die grinder and a buffing pad. man i got to tell you it makes short work on polishing. i used mothers polich and that thing and it worked great! anyone that has a compressor might give it a shot. i did my wheels in about 30 mins!!!:up:

I'm about to do my wheels with the mothers powerball. You got a link for that pad, those mothers balls aint cheap.

You really need the speed of the die grinder, drill is slower, it will work but a die grinder is best. Watch the diameter of the wheel on the die grinder, too large and it will blow apart.

Outstanding What pad is that? My motherball didnt hold up to the Dogs Sharp points and lasted only two polishes

Not only are the mothers balls not cheap but they fall apart. I wont buy any more.
I've used my mothers ball several times and have had no problem with it.

They need to come up with a different name, thats just wrong in everyway to say that.:loony:

You can get a polish kit with numerous pads from Harbor Frieght. Comes with rouge and different size n shape of buffing pads. Great idea using a Dotco. I've been using a 10k rpm die grinder with mine. I think the kit runs about $20-25.

Yep! The Poweball didnt last for sh!t... 5 minutes into it and Puw-Pow...red chunks were slinging off... yes it was on a drill... sharp points are everywhere.

x2 on pad info. I have the air tools, but what that pad.
It looks to be a cone or ball shaped cloth buffing wheel. You can find all different sizes and shapes. Find a detail shop or somewhere that buffs aluminum or metals. Cloth wheels are common.
