Ok it's that time, dog had a new tire on the back when I bought it last year thank god but front needs some love now! The tire listed above is what it has on it and I am also running a Avon Venom on the back as well. Would like to stick to something like this and found on on Ebay for $125 new with no shipping cost. Thought that was a pretty good idea but of course if anyone has a better place or option for me please let me know. Need to do this asap before I take a ride to Charlotte for a long weekend in a few weeks.

Thanks for any and all suggestions as usual!!:2thumbs:

Some guys have had problems with the Cobra's separating. I have one on my bike and have not had a problem...but I made the shop order new ones with newer construction dates than the ones they had in stock. Dennis Kirk has the tire listed for $119 + $5 tire fee + Shipping, so $125 total doesn't seem too bad.

it is recommended that the tires not be more than 6 years old. how many miles do you put on in a year? average miles on a front tire is around 12k so if you do 2k miles a year, highly recommend you get one that isn't more than 2 years old, with a date stamp no older than 0113, would be better as close to 1615 as possible.

Seems like most like them fairly new when purchased.if you are spending that much i would pony up and make sure of at least a 2014 build date. An extra 25 bu ks ain't gonna kill you as quick as an old tire. Good luck.
Just bought both front and rear AvonCobras from denniskirk.com build dates of mid 2014. Tire casings are good for about six years. Why pay for tire life that sat on the shelf? That's the only thing between you and the road, spend the extra $2 and get tires from a reputable source.

I had the wrong size front tire on the ridgeback. So I bought a front tire from J&P Cycle. They had free shipping at the time and no disposal fee.

^Just a little dramatic.

These types of tires are not prone to blowouts due to their low profile. There is a lot of structure there.

The rubber will eventually harden and you will loose traction though.

If your buying tires and you ask about the date and get a BS answer like we sell so many or they are shipped from different locations they are probably trying to get rid of old stock. Spend a few more $$ and get new, it just doesn't pay to go cheap on some things.

Yes, if wet it seems like I am riding on Ice.

Next summer I will change them... I'll get one more year out of those tires.

What is the proper size tire for the front and back of an 05 Ridgeback with a 300 rear?
I'm about to purchase both and don't want to get the wrong size.
