Instead of going with a Dakota 700s speedometer & tach set up how about this set up one of the newbies has. I really like it plus I keep my factory speedometer. Need the bracket and tach! Do you have it. Call me 318-470-7288

Why don't you call them? Or email them the picture?
I did. Donna said it was easier the way I did it so Derrick could pull up the thread and look at it. But unlike the k-9 that has a tach the older Big Dogs do not have a tach. I have seen several threads on here about what speed and what RPM do you shift from 5th to 6th and so on. I don't have a clue! I can only go by what I hear and when I am truly trying to catch up and roaring through the gears I feel the bike stop pulling as hard and the sound of the Rpm's and I assume I'm close to 5500 -6000 rpm then grab another gear. I have been riding so long I just do it automatic. But a tach would be nice!

In that case.... Good deal. How about just a little orange LED light discretely mounted and comes on at 6500RPM? I have the outer tach lights ring and admit that they are only useful for cruising. With the Tazmanian Devil XXX carb things happens way too fast above 4500RPM for it to be useful, I think the same will be the case with an analog tack. On my race bike I taped over everything but the top torque RPM +/- 1500 RPM on a motor spinning 13000. But if you want it, go for it and I hope you get it where you want it, and then post pictures of it. :2thumbs:

That's the original 03 Chopper tach/speedo set up. I've got tons of the speedo mounts, been looking for the tach mount for awhile. I know I've seen them, but still no luck on finding them. I just unearthed some pallets today from 2006. I'll keep looking.
Thanks, Derek

Hey guys! that pic is my exact same setup. I have the same setup. Same gas cap and same speedo/tachometer on my 03 chopper.

Here's the deal. I like minimal too. I'm working with Curtis right now to figure out an electrical issue. I will most likely end up replacing the ECH (will know in the next few days). I'm also up for a new speedo. That being said, I could be interested in selling my 03 speedo/tachometer setup which looks just like the pic above! I'd even like to have the original flat gas cap to replace the 3 spike one I have like the pic above.

Stay tuned for a few days. Thanks!

OMG TSFS - I just noticed - the pic above (4929) is MY bike from a previous post. I'm glad I could help out!!!!! I'll get back with more info shortly!!
