Oscar, look at Gas's how to and check picture 17. That is the fork stop on the bottom race. Either that has moved or the other part which is pictured above has moved. Simple fix. The race you need to tap with a chisel to get it to move, give it a few good wacks.

Oscar, did you fix it yet?

Nope, I'm planning on doing it this weekend. I need to start making some time for this shit. I'd like to get it up and running by the time HOAT gets here, but now my job seems to have threw a wrench in them spokes.

Seems I'll be working that time and might be in Houston at that time. It never fails:down: It happened when Ray came through also. Seems that work is interfering to much with my personal time.

You need to get another job with some better hours.

Well guys this is what I found -

The part that sits in the slot of the lower triple, on the neck was turned just shy of 45*. Not to sure why/how that happened. I couldn't get that sucker loose with nothing! I ended up straightening it out by reinstalling the lower triple and using a dead blow hammer on the triple to straighten it out.

So - on the lower triple you have the notch for the fork stop that was in its correct spot however the stop on the neck was twisted.

Question - If you look on the bottom of the triple where have that 3/8 allen that holds the tree to the neck, is the neck bolt flush or does it stick out? Mine is sticking out a good 3/16". Don't know if that's normal.

Now the fun stuff - I took it for a ride this morning, didn't get far. The front end felt like it was all over the place. Any Ideas.

Oscar it should at least be flush. Sounds like your neck cup turned inside the neck itself. Before you tighten the 3/8 hex allen bolt make sure both set screws are backed out. there is one on the the backside of the top tree and another one on the bottom tree. After you tighten the nut to obtain the swing away then tighten the locking set screws. Another thing since it sounds like your lower neck cup turned, make sure its all the way back into the frame.

So - Would I be able to adjust it without taking all that shit apart or do I still need to tear it down once again.

No worries on my end, I don't mind fixing this shit myself.

Not unless the lower cup has dropped down. Just back off the 2 set screws first before you tighten. One other thing to mention as well I think on my front end they had 2 set screws in the top tree.

Bring up North to Michigan. You can be the pace bike at Michigan Speedway for the Nascar race this weekend. Then we could cruise over to the Easy Rider Rodeo.

Al -

I tried to do what you instructed me to do by loosening the allen set screws in the triples and then work on the 3/8" allen head on the tree shaft & now I have a severe fucked up situation. Mind you that blunt force was not applied during this action.

That allen head on the bottom of the lower triple (the 3/8 head) is god damned stripped. The allen head socket I used was brand new and it bottomed out in the hole so I know it wasn't to short, about 3/4" in length. I have the means in removing the allen head out of the lower triple but the question is can the allen head cap be replaced without replacing the entire lower triple. Seeing that it's all that it is unless the shaft is cross threaded that is.

Any help is good help. Thank you in advance!
