Arizona exhaust noise

Energy One

Hi Everyone,

Moving to Scottsdale Arizona the end of November and need to find out if my Bigdog with V&H Big Radius exhaust will sneek by the inspections for noise. Still have my stock pipes but don't want to swap if possible for the inspection. It's an 07 Bulldog and I may not need an inspection on 05 or newer.

Anyone been through this in the Scottsdale area?

What should I expect?

Also looking for new friends to ride with. Leaving my brother behind (BigdogBro2) is very difficult and Seatmaker and the rest of the group and other good friends.

Thanks,
Rob

Inspections??? We have emissions check every 2 years, but they dont' care how loud it is. I don't know of any other inspections you will have to go through. When you arrive, check out "billet bar" on scottsdale road!!!

I ride with AIH swank we both have drag pipes and are loud as hell no problems in Phoenix.
Let us know when you get here. Billlet bar, the Hideaway and some other places

Raywood can confirm the Tilted kilt is good too. A lot of bike nights here
You are going to love the weather here. Went on a 240 mile ride last weekend in Tshirts

dB text!

I always use this method to check the dB level of my pipes.
Does it make kids cry or piss off the old farts when I ride by?

A. No, pull the baffles or get shorter pipes.
B. Yes, leave them alone.:2thumbs:

As you may have already found out here, the only place with a noise ordinance here is Carefree. If you head up to Harolds or the Hideaway beware and keep it as quiet as You can. I have a 07 K9 with big radius exhaust and I have been okay as long as I shift up a little earlier than normal. The Sherriff's Dept sets up roadside monitoring devices on the weekends there. Have several friends been stopped for it.

I just registered my roadstar in Sept in Scottsdale. I gutted the pipes so it can be loud, no issues. They started to bust my nuts about the apes but if I sit up straight they aren't above my shoulders. Great riding out there, I spent most of October just exploring the state.

Hey Rob,
Welcome to AZ!
I'm in far north scottsdale - a quick ride to the Hideaway and Greasewood Flat. I'm still running stock pipes (that needs to change) and would be good to hear what your V&H's sound like.

It would be great to get some of the local big dog riders together for a ride and meetup.

Just read online today that they are trying to pass a bill to make motorcycles exempt from emmissions tests!!!! They say it will save money and "streamline government" so it might actually pass!!!! Save us all $25 every couple years too!!!

That's the price of living in the big city. Up here in Cottonwood ... no emission testing ... but there's no Target either. Costco is 50 miles in Prescott ... that's the price of living in a small town .... I like it ... :D
