My advise on your question is ask the MC, go to the source. That's what the Prospect and hang around process is for.

Watch reruns of Sons of Anarchy and ask yourself if you want to blindly and obediantly follow a 'Clay' Morrow around!

I can't imagine unquestioned loyalty to a criminal.

Oh, and probably you need to get rid of your Big Dog and get a 'black' Harley. (gotta be black!)

Ride free and no rules.....Bikers....so how did it ever become live by my rules and do what I tell ya? I know it's a brotherhood like no other but in my opinion it defies the the whole biker philosophy...I just never got it and I've been riding for 30+ years...

If you don't like being told what to do, then IMHO, I wouldn't recommend you join. You will be the gopher, prospect get this, get that. Bike watch, carry the club ledger you better not miss Choir or Church! You better make all meetings support poker runs or any other functions, ect… It’s a very busy life with no you time. You will study your ass off learning all the rules and you will be questioned all the time on the rules by patched members. Which I'm sure you have witnessed when riding along with them... Just saying you better go in with the mind set of commiting yourself to them and no-one else...

Not speaking for any 1%ers

I can see how it seems it being tough to prospect and have to put Up with the crap but how you handle that proves how you respect the patch.

The benefit of completing that is knowing that with a phone call you have 100% support of many in most any situation, which is very powerful

If they tell you your bike won't fly then that's just the way it is.

I'd say it's far worse to say your ready and fail then to say your not.

Great statement! I hate clubs would rather ride no rules, regulations and free. We tried to start a club and it is doing well but it got boring with meetings, rules, kind of defeated the purpose to leave all that shit behind while riding weather with friends or solo all problems leave and I just take in the "Road"

Yep, good guys, most of 'em, but for non-conformists and free thinkers, they sure do have to conform and give up their freedom, eh?

1% MC clubs are not for everyone. The commitment is huge. If you enjoy riding your bike with others, you might want to look for a riding club. You'll do more riding with that kind of club then the other.

Looking forward to retirement
I belong to the Bossier City Hog chapter and with 3 kids and 2 of them are teenagers I may make 7 meetings a year. Best thing I ever did was not prospect. I was recently divorced at the time, running with a crowd I had NO business running with and not being able to see my daughter much during the divorse. If I had prospected, I never would have met my wonderful wife I have now who helped me get my daughter 45% of the time. So for me it was a blessing I opted not to join!!

Another round please
I don't know about you guy's, but I hate anyone telling me what to do. So why would I want to be at a clubs beck and call at any moment? Riding a bike is about freedom on the road making my own path and decisions. I sure the hell don't want a club making them for me. I don't need my back taken care of, my back is strong enough to carry any load thats put on it. In my mind, 1% ers probably are gangs. Not alot of good going on in there. I may be wrong, but probably not. Most probably are looking to be needed. There is a place for everyone in this world, so it is what it is. I don't care what anyone does, as long as it doesn't affect my family. Ride safe, ride hard. Peace.

We were all standing around in a circle. The leader comes out of the pool all naked. There were only girls in the pool. I forget if he put anything on, but there was a big plastic beer container going around. Everyone was spitting in it. We all took a drink from it.

Then the rules came. No yap bikes and he kept yapping. My buddy that dragged me there, points his finger at me smiling. I could not afford one. And if they expect me to steal one? Get it? Y*our parts are now my parts is part our ways.

I'm now the lone woof. Any bike I want. No honey due list. One reason I never married. Get rid of the bike(s). And now what? Live your life? It's sort of romantic, no? The 1%'r life... Then reality sets in. I like committing to rules, but rules are rules.

I agree, I go riding when I want to, and come home when I want too. I ride as fast as I want to,or possibly just tooling out through the country side. I don't ride n the rain if at all possible. I ride by my lonesome most of the time out in the country where I grew up. I don't screw with anyone and don't want people screwing with me. I will speak to anyone on the road, hd, yap bike , and even scooters,( got the finger from a guy on a scooter once as I passed him , thought it was funny, old days I would wanted to kick his ____:D. But I will ride with anyone , be kind to everyone if they give me a chance. If ya like the 1% ers I am happy for ya or how ever you like to ride suits me just fine. Thankful I have a dog the garage. Ride safe and have fun,,,

Just look at it from this perspective.

Let's say your 20 year old daughter is out with her girlfriends on a sat night about an hour from home. They get in a situation that goes bad and call you. Your an hour away but ready to fly right freaking there. But before you leave you make one phone call to a member . That member will put the word out and someone will be standing next to your kid like she is own way before you can get there.

That is power.

If prospecting was easy then that power would be weak.

TRUE COLORS COLLISION
They probally want you to get a bike different from a BDM due to the dependability factor...when hi tailing out and away from somewhere, something or someone with your bros and your shit breaks down...well...I would bet there is a price to pay.....and they dont want to pay it......:roll::cheers:
Personally I am one that also dont like committment or being told how and when to do something......
