Another clutch issue post.

Having some clutch issues as a lot of us have had, but adjustment does not seem to correct the issue. This is on my 2009 Wolf with 10K miles. Never had any issues with the clutch before and always easy to adjust. The past couple of months it seems the clutch will always want to "drag" or not fully disengage. If I adjust the clutch per the manual, it will drag the first time I start it up and put it in first gear. I have been able to adjust that out by increasing the amount I back out the clutch adjusting rod (one full turn or more out now), but it will eventually start to drag again as the bike warms up and gets hot. The clutch hub nut is not coming loose either.

When I changed my primary oil before Sturgis, the oil came out and looked like liquid silver. VERY metallic looking. That was with about 5000 miles of use. I just checked the oil again after Sturgis with about 2000 miles of use and it was very silver looking in color again. I'm using Harley primary oil. It doesn't feel like it's slipping a lot either. That's usually easy to detect as well.

Thanks for any insight!

I would pull the primary cover off and give it all a good inspection. Could be a breaking clutch basket and is flexing. How do you know the clutch hub nut is tight? Did you already pull the cover?

We did check it once the first time, but haven't checked it since I guess. I haven't personally pulled the cover as it's still under warranty and I've let the dealer do that. Probably just need to go in a take a closer look at everything.

Doubt your basket is flexing/breaking...given redesign post 05 - hadn't heard of it anyway.
Sounds like your frictions are wearing - maybe at a high rate, but have you checked your clutch diaphragm spring dome height tolerance? Your specs might be different (doubt it) but mine calls for .0200-.0680. I have not experienced an issue with mine giving repeated same condition as you describe though. Clutch nut gave me fits at one time - but sounds like you covered that off and I'm sure you'd have different symptoms.
