So, put about 70 miles on Dahlia and then bam!!! Won’t move, walk into corner store, belt is off and bike is pouring transmission fluid. Upon closer look the transmission is sideways, looks like I either sheered bolts off or they came out… point of the story is even though I have never touched this transmission and it’s been flawless, I did a complete rebuild on this bike and never touched the trans… maybe if I would have just looked I wouldn’t have had this happen… Curtis is a stand up man though and knows I know my way around just about anything mechanical and offered to walk me through n e thing upon taking this thing out and apart… IMG_3837.jpegIMG_3836.jpeg

This pic is very worriesome.
When you consider that there are 6 bolts on the bottom of the transmission holding it to the frame, plus the 6 bolts that hold the transmission to the inner primary, I can't imagine what went wrong here, but I will bet you one thing -- it's not going to be cheap thats for sure.

You say that you did a complete rebuild but left thr transmssion be, did you have the inner primary off by any chance?

Well at least you know the engine is solid. Can’t even imagine what the hell happened there. Looks pretty bad though. Good luck on the repairs. Keep us posted on what you find out took place.
:chopper:

That really sucks and I hope that Curtis will be adding something to this thread and I'm sure that most owners will be checking the Tranny bolts.

Yeah, had the primary off, new clutch, adjusted and all that. New seal and fluid on primary and even threw new bolts on it courtesy of Donna and Derrick.. but I haven’t messed with it yet, looked under and saw two bolt holes via backwards camera on phone that had no bolts… so I don’t even know configuration on it. But I’ll get the breakdown from Curtis and go from there. But will keep everyone posted, and yeah, it ain’t gonna be cheap and I just dropped a ton of money and that was doing all the labor myself. Heads ported, polished, new springs to match the 600 cam, new rings in my oversized Carillo Pistons, new bearings, paint, tires, wheel bearings, now just brakes… list goes on and on not to mention new paint that was just damaged by this…

My guess based on the pic is that there was a problem with the bolts and or lock tabs from inner primary case to the transmission.
IfI'm right ad you're lucky, maybe the you tore up the inner primary cover and may have damaged some teeth on the clutch. Hopefully you didn't break or bend the main shaft on the transmission as they are getting harder and harder to locate so I have heard.
Are you sure it was transmission fluid not primary fluid you found on the floor? Maybe just the seal went.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you brother and will be awaiting photos.

Oh I’m sure it was trans and a little primary … it was dirty pinkish.. and I feel like an idiot, had the bike since 2015 and never touched the trans, didn’t even change the fluid..

Tough break, Kell. You think the transmission was damaged? If so, Barnes in Endwell, NY—or I understand there is a guy at Gateway in STL also—at least that’s what The Infamou$1 discussed when last we chatted this topic.
Josh in St Charles can get it right. He does motors an transmissions. Gateway BigDog in St Charles Mo.

Do a search for torque adapter on here and you'll find the tool you need to pull and re-install the shocks to the correct torque. You also will likely need to sacrifice a 1/2 tap so you can clean the threads properly.

Ya mean to tell me I can just pull the shocks out and re-install them?

If I do send it to anyone it’s gonna be Curtis, be he is confident I can take care of it myself. So let’s hope he is right, haven’t even tore it down yet, been so stupid busy and now my Truck which is my baby and barely driven got rear ended and now I’m dealing with that on top of all this… so yeah just haven’t made the time brother!

Absolutely can pull and re-install shocks -- hell even I've done it!
the pain is there isn't enough space between the bolt and the frame to get a socket/torque wrench in there!
Best method is use torque adapter/socket wrench to break the bolt loose (heat it up first to help loosen red loctite)
then use a ratcheting wrench (open/box end) to remove the bolts. You'll be annoyed if using regular open end/box wrench and you'll be taking it off and on bolt head many times due to lack of motion you can achive.
