I'm new here so here's my first post :
I have a 2006/2007 Pitbull and I am gonna change the oil in the primary-so what type & weight (and brand do you guys reccomend) and how much in ounces does it take for a fresh refill.
The owners manual really doesn't tell you anything specific. All replys much appreciated-oh....I got the 2 of em at a bankrupt dealer auction in Virginia 2 weeks ago with NO warrantys or repair history.
I have ridden them both back & forth for about 500 miles each before this service i'm doing now & the primary amount/weight & brand are all I need to know-but any other information you people want to add will be read & appreciated. They pull & perform like a muthafukka and I just wanna do the primary service over the winter months.
No dealers here in the Northeast that I know of will provide me with answers-and I dont wanna go to Harley for answers either. Thanx.

1 quart in the primary. Many on here use ATF. Some use 20-50 engine oil others use Bel Ray primary oil. Also TrickShift. Take your pick. ATF is the least expensive and works fine on most applications.

Thanx My Friend.....so ATF in either Dextron or Mercon will work ...?
or 20-50 Mobil 1 as well...? Bel-Ray is also an option and I am assuming the same weight...?
I appreciate the patience & replys from members to me as being a new member with a BDM scooter.

Go over to Autozone and pick up a quart of B&M Trick shift and put that in the primary.

Welcome aboard... If you live in Bridgeport, NY you are not to far from me.

:flag: JesseAFFA the clutch is a Baker 9 Disc and they have recommended Spectro, I think. Their site is easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. :2thumbs::choppersmiley: Tom Chop . . . PS - I have had good luck out of Dextron Mercon ATF.

I just use simple RevTech Primary fluid, can pick it up at most any decent motorcycle shop that deals with V-Twin. Regardless of what you use, recommend to change it out at regular intervals.

Welcome to the site BTW

I just use Harley Primary Oil myself seeing how a shop is just down the road from where I live. As Fibersnake said, change it out regularly...
