I bought a few parts HD from them thru ebay over the years. Easy dealings. Was a day away from going to check out a probably buy a souped up Night Train from them about five years ago but it got sold before I made the trip. It looks like the bikes they build up are good quality...don't know of anyone ever owning one.

A few years ago there was a lot of bad pr from some of the members. It was said that they do not like to make good on problems. I bought a few things on ebay and never had a issue. I also went there to pick up an item on a Saturday morning, about 2+ hours each way. The owner is a 30 something year old guy running around all over the place. They had a few custom and classic bikes in the show room and they were very well done. You are not that far away. I would call and drive up on a Saturday morning to see the bike in person.

I live less than 5min. from their store. I personally have never been there. But I have a friend who was in the market for a bike. He walked into the store and was ignored for 20min. by everyone that worked there. It's a shame for them cause he had cash in hand. I have heard from other guys around here that they are very difficult to deal with after the sale. Like I said I'm very local and can pass by if you'd like.

toodie,
why would your friend want to spend that much on a 1997 ? If I were going to buy a bagger I'd get one at least an 2009 or newer where the frames have been updated. Ask anyone that has one they say the difference is night and day.

Don't take it wrong it's a nice bike and has lots of goodies but hell it's still 14 years old.

Thanks for your input guys.

Earl - I hear ya that's what I asked...I think it's 2 reasons: He really likes road kings and that it is a ground up resto/custom also he has a 2006 HD that is paid off forsale.

I have bought many parts from them over the years, online and in the shop personally. I had an issue last year with a kickstand they sold me, it was defective, the holes were nowhere close to lining up. After fighting with them they took it back and issued me a store credit, but it took them over a month to get me the letter of credit, and only then after I filed a complaint with paypal. A few months ago I bought a front tire from them on ebay, and sent a message referencing my credit and asking for an invoice for the $5 balance I owed. I got no answer for 2 weeks after multiple emails and calls, and eventually THEY filed a non paying bidder complaint against me. I had to go through the dispute process on egay, in the mean time I tracked down their paypal address online, sent the $5 referencing the credit and autction, then filed a complaint through paypal that they failed to ship. It took all that mess to finally get the tire a month later. I'd walk in there and buy a bike cash if the price was right, but do not expect them to follow up or help you with any issues. They are complete jerkoffs to deal with, I mean no bullshit if they hadn't taken the kickstand back I was gonna drive up there and throw it though their window, they got me that pissed off. The guys in the showroom are generally snobbish jerkoffs who want their teeth kicked in. Just my .02

I purchased my Avon tire through them that failed. Nothing but trouble trying to send it back with a RA which I never got to have the tire evaluated. Kept changing what they wanted me to do to return it. I believe David from Avon had a lot to do with it as well. I still have all the emails on what went down. Tire is still in the garage and a metzler on the bike now.
It was not a good experience at all trying to return the tire even at my cost to have it sent back. Avon failed as well in this...
Take it to a shop. Have them measure the depths and send photographs of it and signed documentation so we can look at it before we send you a RA and so on.
