Altitude Jetting Restrictor Plate Question?

Okay,

My 2005 Mastiff came from Arizona where the altitude is about 2000 feet. It has Mean Mother pipes and the E carb has been jetted. I live at about 5500 feet, and of course it runs rich. I know my bike came with the intake restrictor plates. So, would removing the plates and putting in the spacers lean it out enough, or would I still have to rejet it to go leaner?

Well a dyno is usually the best way. But you can get it real close and rideable on your own.

I've got a XXX G carb so my set up won't help. Shoemans Custom Cycle has about any jet you need in stock. I'm not sure about HPCC, I've never bought jets from them but they should have em too!

I think I will just drop the bike off at HPCC and let them do the work to it. They have a 4 gas analyzer too. I'll go and check out Shoemans Custom Cycle, where are they?

Shoemans is on the corner of 4th and Evans just four blocks east of Virginia St. in Reno. They are in the same building as Davidsons Distillery, a great little biker bar. Tell them Robin Flowers sent you, the owners of both know me, HPCC know me too for that matter. You might want to check out Holdens Cycle Works 1260 Greg St. Sparks Nv. Jason (son) and Danny Holden (Father) both know me as well. Feel free to drop my name at any of these local shops, Holdens may even give you a discount for knowing me. Give me a call (376-2384) and I'll be happy to take you by and introduce you to these guys and any others you want to go to. I also have an in at American Thunder 1220 Greg St., the owner there is Eric, and again feel free to drop my name, it's hard to froget a guy that looks like me, rides big bikes (not just dogs) and has the name Robin Flowers. Now that I think of it I know someone at most shops in town. Arron Green that owns Paramount Custom Cycles and has been on the Discovery Channel many times has a shop in town too and should remember me but he is a bit pricey, well worth it but pricey none the less. Give me a call and we'll hook up for a tour of the local bike shops that are good, no need to even mention the ones to avoid.

Eric as in Dopie? I know him, we don't really get along. Had a drunkin fall out at a bar and haven't talked since. Small world.

Im like Gas Man you need to find out what you have first. If you bought it
used and it already had the pipe change and the rejetting, it probably has
allready had the restricter plates pulled.
