Alternative sissy bar for 08 Pitbull??

Hi,

as far as I've seen on BDM the 12" sissy bars are on backorder (forever??)..... Unfortunately I cannot check it out - I'm blocked on this site, may be because I'm from Germany .

Are there any manufacturers that have sissy bars that fit the 08 Pitbull? And how do they mount on the fender struts? Any pics of that?

I've seen a narrow metal band in each strut - is this for the Sissy bar and if yes - is that strong enough??

Try calling Lena, Strokers Dallas; BDM site says its available along with the luggage rack. The backrest pads/plates are indicating backorder, but you can find them on e-bay.

You should have receiver holes in your struts, remove the plugs and drop the bar in, fasten with 2 bolts from bottom side. Yes, its strong enough.

Jochen, Choppin Steel makes makes custom sissybars with or with out a luggage rack.

how about the 18". I see it as discontinued for the 08' pitbull.

I thought it was discontiued due to saftey issues as the struts were not sturdy enough.

Anyone on here know anything about that?

That is one part of the Big Dog that I have found I am not liking. Their lack of parts like a simple sissy bar.
