The EHC isn't seeing all the inputs all the time like from the key switch to turn off.

Disconnect the battery.....

Pull the EHC harness connections and DO THE ROUTINE!!!

Search for "dielectric grease".

Hate to hear you are frustrated but I can understand why. It is always good to walk away for a while.

I believe the EHC gets grounded through the key switch to turn on. Like mentioned above, there may be a ground in the wiring for the key switch or the key switch is not breaking the ground. So, your EHC is grounded somewhere to turn on. What is also weird is why would the bike not shutdown with the key switch but did with the off button? You may have a couple of issues.

Do a search on EHC and all the lights lit up. There is some information on this. Try looking at this http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/how/3717-read-your-ehc-fault-lights.html

I will have to look around to see if I can find your specific problem.

I'm having the same intermittent problem. One time all the lights come on the computer and the next day all is good. Spent hours troubleshooting the electrical. Coil, key switch, voltage regulter, battery, dieletic grease EHC and everything checked out good. Sometimes it is good for a few days and then all of a sudden all the computor lights are on. As long as the ignition module comes on, the bike will start. Once and a while the ignition module won't light up, wait a half hour and them it is good again. I am also getting fed up. All grounds etc. are good. What is the problem?

First of all the bike should always be killed by using the OFF button, not the switch. Turn OFF the switch after the engine shuts down.

The keyswitch could have a bad intermittent internal contact that sometimes isn't seen by the EHC to shut the engine OFF, that's why the button seems to always work when the keyswitch doesn't.

Make sure all the battery CRIMP style connections are CRIMPED TIGHT and clean. Install the Larger Cables next to the battery posts FIRST then the smaller ones.

Been there done that if you want to just get up in the morning and be able to just go get on it and ride put a wire plus in it and be done with it . I fucked around for a year with mine before I did. Wish I had done it long before no more problems. Just riding at last.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your bike. You should start a new thread because this one is from back in 2012. Give us the year and model of your bike along with any problems you may be having. You can get a lot of good tech advice from different guys on this site who are more than willing to help you troubleshoot.
Best tip I can give with 0 info from you is that these Bikes need a battery that is in tip top shape. A weak , shorted or poorly connected battery will give you all kinds of wacky problems. Have yours load tested even if you think its good.
Good Luck
