Anyone that paints or does airbrushing, I'm looking for a little advice. A while ago I saw Shannon (Mr. Wright) painted a Yamaha with some cool silver knife edge looking graphics and loved the way it looked and told myself it was something I wanted to try. Thanks for the inspiration Shannon! So the other day I figured I'd give it a shot and watched an Ed Hubbs video on YouTube on how to do it.
So I taped out a simple tribal design I found online and sprayed it silver, just used spray paint for a trial. Then taped off about an 1/8 inch in from the edges and did a light coat of white on top with a couple thicker spots and the lower edges misted black with some darker spots. And then shaded where they cross over which I've never really tried shadding before. And this is what I came up with. Now my lines are not perfect and I didn't let the silver dry enough cause it started pulling when I stretched the tape on the curve, but it was more for the idea.
So I'm looking for opinions of guys who do this, what's good, what's bad, any tips to improve on it? Figure I wanted to try something other that fire and always looking to try something new. Added some closer shots to see a little better.
