Hey guys just wanted to share some info on a Bigdog owner who is a great airbrush artist. Not to step on anyones toes but just wanted to share this guys info just in case. Here is a link to his myspace page if anyone wants to look. His prices will blow you away. I've seen about five bikes in person that he has done. AWESOME. The link is Gary Smith (Gary Smith) | MySpace.com. Once agin I'm not trying to step on anyones toes or take work away. Just wanted to share this guy since he's a bigdog owner. Thanks

My friend, Airbrush-Ed, who is a member of this forum, also is an airbrush artist. It doesn't matter to me that he doesn't have a Big Dog because he's the best out there and I'm honored that he's painting my bike.

I'm just a big Mother Hen when it comes to my friends and Ed deserves my support especially after being laid off in this crappy economy. And friendship aside, he truly is the best in my book.

still, it looks like he does good work. as much as you can tell from a set of pictures. it's hard to compare pictures to what a lot of us have seen in person on a lot of bikes at dealerships, many of which were done by our own "Ed".
doesn't matter either way, if you can't afford the graphics you can't afford them. plain is fine with me.

Ed is one hello of an artist that is for sure and a much beloved member here. All said, the few pics of the other artist also show some great talent.

Appreciate good art from anyone, and Ed is top notch no doubt.

Unlike some I don't feel that you're stepping on anyone's toes. While Ed is great at what he does it appears that Gary is too!

Great artists have a style of their own. Some Big Dog owners may like what Ed can do to their bike while others may lean towards Gary's work. It allows for a choice and choice is good!

Personally, I wouldn't want either of these gentlemen's designs on my bike. I like my K-9 solid black. :2thumbs:

But that's just my choice... :D

Nice work -- then again, anything with chicks usually gets high marks from me. Like Woodbutcher said, it's all about what you like.

Thank God we're not all the same ....

I agree 100% with Dennis. Different artists = different styles and different people = different tastes. Personally, the art Ed does fits my tastes perfectly. :2thumbs:

The guy does nice work from what I can see from a picture. But for Ed's sake to be hired by a great bike company like BDM that says alot. it is just BDM's stupidity they let someone go like Ed hows work is all around us on the bikes we all love. Not that there ain't some good aritist out there just Ed's work is worthy of mad respect....:cheers:

I just saw this thread! This Gary guy does some real nice work, definately!
Thanks for all the support from my friends here at Bigdogbiker! It DOES mean alot to me. But I'm not out to dominate the world, LOL! There's always room out there for other talented individuals. And this guy is clearly talented!
On a side note:
Not everyone likes my style - that's OK. I have honed my skills to work in several different styles. Most of my stuff falls toward the darker side of things, but that's what my clients want. So that's what I do. And that's what I get alot of practice at. I would love my diversity in my work - more portraits, pin-ups, and off-beat stuff. But I am at the mercy of my clients. After all, it's their bike!

I'm A big fan of Bigdog and always will be!! But your paint jobs is what has always put Bigdog over the top for me. I know some people like one color but I'm a fan of the art work you guys do! It seem like that is (was) the iceing on the cake for bd. But if Bigdog wants to put out ok paint on there bikes then you guys will always have a job. You can tell its not just a paint job by how complexe you paint.
