Hello everyone. I have air ride on my 2006 k-9 and it is leaking heavily. I took the air shock to work to test it and that is my problem. I am getting quoted a price of around 650 dollars from the local shop near me for a new air shock. Does this sound correct to everyone? Has anyone else had leaking problems with the air ride system? Can I repair the shock? Thanks for the help..

There was an issue with them early on where the hose connections leaked. I would check those before I paid for a new shock.
Check with your dealer to see if there was a Service Bulletin released concerning this. I'll save you some money.

Checked all of the fittings. I tested the shock at work and the leak is coming directly from the housing somewhere

CRAWFISH Im not sure if the one air shock is rebuildable or if it can only be purchased by itself! Check with nelson at wickedbastardcycles.com. Is it leaking out the vent or the shaft? If you decide to replace it I would be interested in your old shock! I assumed you isolated the leak to the shock correct? pm me 05chop

I would still call your dealer cause I think there was a SB on them.
But instead of buying a new shock I would first check with Work Performance Shocks who makes the regular shocks and I think makes the air shocks also and have your shock rebuilt. It'll still be a lot cheaper.

I'm thinking of getting rid of mine altogether. Looking at the ones Marv got from Ted Tine. I emailed them a couple days ago for a price and they never replied.

make sure they fit on your model. Marvs has a different trans mount and the newer bikes can't run 2 fat cans thats why one is skinny and the air shock is fat. I tried to put them on my bike but they (other aftermarket air shock or just shocks) would not fit.

Good luck.

also on my air shocks you may have to move the oil feed line from the tank to the oil pump as it could be binding there.

thanks Hoat - I was not aware of that. Looks like I need to give this some more thought.
