Air shifter?

The reason I ask is I don't like feeling like captain hook after a good day of riding, especially in town with tons of shifting. Check this out, clutchless shifting both up and down at the push of a button.

How about going to the gym. I have never understood that someones hand and arm get tired from pulling in the clutch lever. Man up. Maybe start by J/O with the left hand more often so its as strong as your right hand. Maybe buy a old Hondamatic.:roll::roll::roll::2thumbs::cheers:

Here's the deal with air shifters....they're built to run 1/4 mile at a time. You will have to carry around an air tank to use them. It's a lot cheaper for gym membership.

Ouch! That wasn't nice. In assuming that you have rode more then 200 miles in one day, I am glad that your clutch hasn't given you any issues. However, mine has a stiff pull that doesn't adjust out. I actually have suffered inflamed ligimants due to shifting from extensive riding, and long back to back trips are not enjoyable. That said, I enjoy riding and am looking for an alternative to carpal tunnel surgery.

You know I had a similar problem down in Daytona a couple years ago. My buddies are all attention whores and they wanted to run up and down main street all day in stop and go, I swear to god I almost dumped my bike 100 times there. Then my buddy, who's a drummer in a band, lent me this:

Of course, you could always convert your bike to a foot clutch!

There is a easy pull clutch if I recall, I think its a different ramp than the stock that makes it easier. Do a search on here. Just busting your balls, no worries.

I invite you to follow the link. No tank, all electric.

Well if it's all electric then it's not an air shifter. Looks pretty cool though, might be worth it for you to look into, but you will have to do some fabrication to get it to fit your application.

I know what you mean, stuck in Sturgis traffic I almost had my hand fall off! But I prolly wouldn't go that route. Besides the longer the ride, the less shifting, the more relaxed I get.

Kilktronics Shifter

We use a system called Kliktronic. It works great. Took a small pizza looking size of aluminum, welded it to the outer primary cover. Rechromed. Looks factory. Green button is for up shift, red is for down shift. Street ride everyday or drag strip ready. Nice looking. Pingle makes a great product too.

I guess my first thoughts are your MAIN concern seems to be the clutch right? This system you are looking at has nothing to do with the clutch that I see.

Have you tried shifting without your clutch? I haven't been able to do it without a big "clunk" as the tranny changes gears. I believe this system tries to minimize that by killing your motor for a few seconds while it shifts. I can't see this thing being practical in traffic, on the drag strip it's a different story.

I'm not sure I would want to wire this thing into my electrical harness and create more issues to worry about down the road. Our wiring is already tempremental.

I think you might be better off looking at an auto clutch rather than a shift assist system.

Auto Clutch. How Does It Work? at Cyril Huze Blog

My brother has both the auto clutch and the air shifter on his BBC. He had to do it this way though cause he lost a leg in a motorcycle accident and he built his bike with no foot controls.

Most of the guys with the true air shifters will tell you it works best on the track for full throttle applications and not so well around town or leisurly riding.
I am not familiar with these others though.
Let us know what you get and how it works out for you.
