All,
Currently running a D&M Spike filter with the holes in the cover - took my doggie to finally get dyno'ed this weekend ('05 Bulldog, 117ci, Super G jetted at 32/76) - was expecting close to if not a little over 100hp; disappointed. Ran at 92.2hp at 112.3 ft/lbs. Tuner stated the filter cover was choking the hell out of the motor as the A/F ratio was at 12:1 (running too rich). For sh*ts and giggles he took the cover off and re-ran it - this time it turned 97.6hp at 112.8 ft/lbs; over 5hp gain by simply removing the cover. Also A/F ration went to about 14.2:1 (too lean). Question - I want to keep the spike filter (looks cool) but obviously the current setup is too restrictive. I see D&M offers new covers you can buy - want to know if anyone has tried the Power Flow covers and if I would get comperable flow instead of buying a new $500 filter to simply gain a few ponies. Cover vs. open filter. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!
