I have a wimmer intake on hear and wimmer says that you can not mix their intakes with other filters but here it is.K&N filters on a wimmer intake. The wimmer filters are $150.00 apeice and the K&N's were $67.00 for the (2).

Theres not any difference running their filter than the K&N.Their both filter elements. And they fit. Their :loony: Plus I rode it today and it runs fine with it.

Sounds like bullshit to me. I can't think of a true reason for their statement other then more money in their pocket for an overpriced filter.

I took the boot off, it is made to keep water out but it also keeps water in and does a better job at that. I bought the sending unit cover at Daves Custom Cycle in Henderson, Ky.

T, I replaced my Wimmer paper filter with a Green filter. Any filter with a 2 1/2" flange will work and I used a long 6" cone filter.

If you want to know more about filtration then check out Bob's website. He has a great website and offers lots of testing of oil and air filters. His testing of air filters may surprise you as it did me. Not much difference really but keep in mine this is just the filter media he is testing not the filter size, shape, orientation of installation or fancy covers. But it's a good read!

i have been to wimmers shop in myrtle beach. last year for bike week my buddy was getting his grandeur bobber dynoed and thought he would replace his filter first. we stopped in and they seemed like they really didnt even want us there, we inquired about the filter and the owner say's " we make all of our filters in-house to match up to our intakes" and kindly offered to sell him a intake and filter set up for $600.00. my buddy said he was really just looking for a filter and the guy says "well we dont sell filters for that kind of intake". as he walked us to the door. good guys over there at WIMMERS!

Reminds me of a insident just recently with a customer of mine. The people that installed his $150.000.00 automatic wash machine for washing his truck fleet told him he couldn't use any other soap except thiers in this machine or it would not clean.:job: The price was 4 times what I pay for soap. GO FIGURE! Sounds like the same shit you are getting to me. Air flows through a air filter, and none flow better than K&N. How can thiers be any different......EXCEPT PRICE! Stick with K&N.:2thumbs:
