Anyone on here run Accutronix tripple trees? If so, do you have any issues and also, how do the front turn signals mount? Thx!

GAS - did that on the "Pheonix"....read it in detail, the trees were NOT a "rip and replace" - he had so shim his fender mounts and spacers. Seemed like it got a bit "involved" to install, someting to the tune of - customs don't bolt on -:lol::lol: with that something to think about are your turn lights.
Good luck.

Turn signals don't mount. If you want turn signals then you'll have to buy some 41 mm clamp on's or drill and tap the the lower top tree and get some of those small ones. As far as the spacing went it was a little involved. Had to respace the front wheel, shave the wheel hub to put the rotor in position, cut the fender mounts that bolt to the lower trees. All this was due to the .300 smaller spacing between centers from the big dog trees to the accutronix trees.

It all depends on which ones you buy. I did not have any problems installing mine. I bought the Gothic 41 MM 3 Degree rake and it was a direct bolt on with a couple of exceptions. One is that I had to get the 41 mm Clamps to be able to use my turn signals and two I had to re-tap the treads on the bottom tree to bolt on the fork stop. The holes on the stock fork stop matched, but the treads were different. I also had to remove one of the spacer washers on the brake caliper to get it centered. The setting of the fall way was easy. In fact the handle bars were not even torqued at BDM to specs I removed them with ease. I torqued them to 65 as they should be and I thought for a minute that the dam bolt would break, but to took the torque specs. The other thing I found was the fall away was way off. It would just fall off by it self to the left (with or with out the clutch cable) and it would take a good hard thump to get it to go right. All is good now. I used a couple of wires to hold the turn signal lights wiring (temperary) until I can find me some real wire holding clips. I just finished with this a couple of days ago.

If you don't want to use the clamps for the turns then check out Headwinds headlight clamp. :D

Thanks Ray, I think I'll get me a set of Headwind headlight mounts, they look better than the clamps :2thumbs:

Al was right on how mine went.

The way I was told is that NONE of the BDM bikes "wide glide" front ends are the same. vickie (noobs don't know but most of us do) said many many many times they would find 2 of the same bikes that had very much different spacing in the front due to a large variance in triple trees. Where as with accutronix, I spoke to the owner, and he told me every one of his tripples are IDENTICALL in spacing. Boo got lucky, I didn't.

I am glad I got lucky too, cause I know it can be pain in the butt to find the right spacers, bolts, brackets to name a few. Sometimes just waiting for parts can drive you up the wall and then when they finally arrive, they still don't fit. Over the years I have learned that after market parts will almost always need a little tweaking to make them work. :2thumbs:

looks killer Carlos - have you thought about mounting your headlight underneath the lower tree? would really open it up and show those trees off nice

If I ever felt the need for front turn signals I would go with the built in unit from Rivera Primo. Here's a vid.

I kicked that idea around a few times Lee, but the fact that the headlight bucket hides the control wires, brake line and clutch cable as they all come out in the center of Top tree, didn't like the looks of all that.

Al, I never seen this type if turn signals before, looks cool. I like the HID on mine and just ordered the new adapters that go on the side of the headlight, which will eliminate them ugly clamps.

Thanks

I sent a nice little email to Accutronix and asked if the trees had provisions for turn signals and all I got back was "no". One word response and thought it was a bit rude. Oh well, the trees look good though. Was thinking about them for a winter project.

do you need front signals in TX?

looks better with them off IMO
Yea, you need front signals in Texas, you also need rear reflectors,:job: but I take them off after I get the bike inspected :D

Daddycool500, the guy at Accutronix is cool, maybe a bid rude the way he answered your question, but if you call and talk to him he can be very helpfull with what you need.

I kinda huffed a bit but quickly blew it off when I realized he probably didn't have a Big Dog and was peeved himself, at me. Not everyone is cool like us here on the forum!

If I decide to do the trees I will call them. I like their trees better than anyone else.:2thumbs:
