I have been wanting to buy a Ridgeback for a long time and I found this used one and would like to hear from you guys about what you think. I am crossing over from sport bikes (15 yrs.). I moved from Pittsburgh to Dallas and the terrain here is straight and flat and is no fun for me on my GSX-R. So I want to buy a bike that suits the style of area.

I have rode a few 300mm tire bikes before so that is not my concern. I just don't know alot about Big Dog bikes. I just fell in love with the Ridgeback since I first saw it a year ago and I want one. So sorry for being a newb, just wanting to get some good advise from people that know the pros and cons.

Aloha Heavyhitter :hi: ,

Just wondering if you ever rode a ridgid bike before?... I like you loved the Ridgeback when I first saw them...I rode the Ridgeback and K-9 and made the decision to buy the one that had suspension that would be the K-9... I'm an older guy (over 50 :nopity: ) and my back is not what as resilient as it used to be...But believe me you can not go wrong either way:argue: ...It is my favorite bike and definately is the one that eyes go to :2thumbs: .... Speed safely :choppersmiley: ...

Welcome:cheers:

I have the 08 Ridgeback with the 330 tyre. I don't mind the rigid frame and this bike rides a lot smoother than the Pitbull I had. If I had to do it again I would still buy the Ridgeback

BUT having said that you need to find a way to try out each one K9 or Ridgeback. Nothing will make a better decision than your own ass.

Theres a thread on here about K9 vs Ridgeback you might want to check out:2thumbs:

Well I have riden a ridged frame. It did not bother me but it is a good point. The place I am looking has a few bikes there and I will compare to be sure.

Delly, You say nothing but problems. Can you or someone please explain what type. I would like to get an idea.

Also do you guys think $20k is a fair price for the bike?

P.S. Thanks guys for your input. It helps alot!

No you don't but with no hills and no turns, I do not enjoy my sport bike anymore. I will keep it for track days but daily drives are no fun. I always wanted a Dog just much better weather and more use for it here. I just love bikes. I don't care what it is as long as it has two wheels.

And thank you I will try to look him up.

Thank you all so much!
