i am having issues all the sudden with sputtering. I have the S&S 107. I have drained my fuel tank, pulled the carb, still sputtering as I’m gaining speed. Then I lost all power, ended up being this little relay, sanded the contacts and now I have power, but still sputtering as if there’s either a loss of fuel or power. It also dies while I’m riding. Could it be my wiring harness? I have the Thunder Heart Performance Complete Electric Harness Controller. Please help

Welcome from Kansas. Just for shits n giggles, check the top of ur carb for two rubber caps. If you see them, replace them. If they dry rot they will suck air and the bike will run like crap. Jm. 02

Hello Scott, welcome to the forum. When you get a chance do an introduction and tell us about you're self and you're bike. There are a few of us on here who love our older dogs. If you think you are having a fuel problem start by turning off the gas at the valve under the left side tank. Then start by removing the fuel line from the carburetor. Now turn the valve back on. You should have a nice flow of fuel. If not open the left tank filler cap. Any chance in the fuel flow? If there is you have a tank venting issue. If there is still not much flow turn off the valve and remove the filter on the bottom of the valve and clean it. Also you may as well change the fuel hose from the valve to the carb. The ethanol in the gas may have caused it to fail. Also while you are at it change the hose that ties the two tanks together. Let us know if this helps.

Can you post a pic of the relay you were talking about? I am wondering what exactly it was.

Good luck!
Frank

The "wearable" part of your EHC is actually the ignition module which is mounted forward of your Thunderheart EHC (with the sword emblem). It is also a Thunderheart ignition module. It wears out. The EHC is just a cluster of electronic alternatives to vintage relays. Check the spark output. The module is easily replaced or is by-passable to traditional EVO-style, nose cone mounted, cam sensor ignition module (such as Crane Hi4N or others.). This is an old thread and I hope my input is moot nd you are already on your way. If not, well here ya go.

I would suspect that Frank is right and that you have fuel flow issues out of your tank due to flakes of tank liner coming loose.
