This is what i want-XXXCarb.-.640 cam and gear-.640 springs/collars/keepers/ Bandit clutch-for my 06 Ridgeback 117 c.i.S&S.. Heres my question-Should i get the jugs cut to almost zero deck? And will it help for a cleaner/fuller burn plus more compression? I want more horses. I have the S&S dual cone intake. How much more horsepower are we talking about? With this is my warranty voided? If it is I DON'T GIVE A RATTS ASS... Some response would be greatly appreciated... PEACE OUT... :2thumbs: maybe  or    on me !!! one more  Almost forgot how much is the clutch and what part # is it? THANKS...

Contact member John Sachs, he will get you all the horsepower you want at a reasonable cost. John has told me he has done a few 117 for members here. There is a thread in the performance section by John on the 117, give it a read and see if that suits your hunger. John has done mods for me and I was and am very satisfied with his work and knowledge. OOPS John will be at Daytona for the entire week. Here is his phone #954-473-2980.

I like the comment on the warranty - thats the spirit!

I would get your deck height sorted with that combo - the cam will appreciate the higher compression - no point putting in a big cam and not getting the best out of it. The clutch is also a good idea - quite a few of us are running the bandit clutch and its not expensive (I think its cheaper than a replacement from BDM) and it works great - again, all the power in the world is useless if you can't get it to the wheel. As for actual HP numbers who knows and who cares - seat of the pants dyno is always the best.

I'm porting and polishing heads, decking jugs, Running the .650 woods 246 duration. And getting about 120-125hp

Cut the deck to zero, normally that means milling between .020 to.040 off the jug. Make sure you take all the material off the top of the jug! If you mill it off the bottom, you will have clearance issues between the jug and crankshaft. Then mill the heads to attain 83cc. Normally that means you need to mill around .020 off them. That gives you compression of 10.5. then add your cam, carb, thunderheart ignition etc. You will get at least 120hp and 130tq. Set the thunderheart ignition on the number "4" setting. We had my bike on the dyno and it did not like the advance over the 4 setting. On the Bandit clutch during install add 2 small spacers they include in the kit behind each spring. When you do this it adds more pressure to hold the higher horsepower.

Another round please
Dont assume you need to cut and deck. Check it first. I did not cut or deck mine and am at 10.5 as is(04 117). Woods 650, ported heads, bigger valves, Y2k ignition, BDL belt drive, XXX carb, souds great and hauls ass. Warrenty is gone at that point.

I just got my motor back together this last weekend and did a Thunderheart ign, minor carb to head port match, .600 SS cam and cylinder decking. First thing with cylinders, measure and measure again. Be damn sure of your numbers before you do any machining. I removed heads, and reinstalled head bolts with large area spacers under heads and torqued to 2 then 4 then 8ftl lbs. Cleaned the top of the piston then the top of cylinders and used a CALIBRATED depth mic. I had .053 below deck on rear and .049 on front. On any motor I shoot for .0015 to .002 negative deck. I had the machine shop take off .048 on front and .052 on rear. After arguing with them over what they wanted to do, I not so politely told them to do what I told them and use my mics since they used mics that hadnt seen calibration since WWII. My mic read a difference of .0012 difference. Standard SS cyclinders are 4.885 to 4.889 tall with blueprint height being 4.885. Mine ended at 4.886 and when I was done, have a deck height of -.0015 on both. I got a HD dyna that dynos every time about 112 hp and 115 tq out of 95 inches and I can tell you that this bike will fricken wax its ass. Runs like a scalded dog. Playing with curves on the thunderheart and hope it will get better. Point is, measure and know exactly what you need to take off, just dont do a number everyone else has. Good Luck!!
