Just did all the fluids today with the recommended fluids I read about here from you guys. After changing out the tranny fluid I noticed I was getting some rough shifts almost like the shifter was hard to move, I read that the lines could have air in them after the change anyone else experience this before? I was told by a motorcycle mechanic here today it should work itself out with riding.

That is Correct. The first time I rebuilt the oil pump on my sportster, I almost seized it. Went for a test ride about 3 miles into it something didn't sound or smell right. Had to stop and wait for it to cool back down before I rode it home. Then I rebuilt it the second time much better results. Haha

Yeah—you’d think that mechanic would be a LOT further along the lessons learned curve than cattlehand……hope he didn’t have to pay for that advice. Again, who is the guy whose signature is ‘why pay someone else to f*#^ up your bike’. Worst thing that ever happens is a Harley mechanic getting ahold of a Big Dog

Lol I thought that sounded kinda fishy and I'd never heard that before but you can do a search and there's been talk about it online.

I've always brought my primary fluid just short of the lip of the primary cover hole in my Harley's, I figured it was the same on these S&S engines also, S &S says that the fluid capacity is between 32 and 44 ounces, I put 32 in at first and to me it looked kinda low

This is from a older post.

Do you have a chain or a belt in your primary case? If chain wet system/ belt dry system. The atf/chain oil is to keep the chain cool. Don’t know what year your bike is but don’t overfill the primary case. 32oz in ‘94 & older. 22ozs in ‘95 & newer

Mine is an 03' 22 oz doesn't even touch the chain at the rear of the primary 32 oz barely did, so only the front needs to be touching oil? Sorry guys If I sound clueless but I thought S&S engines were Harley clones, and pretty much same specs for fluid.
