280 BDM Luggage Rack and sissy Bar for sale

update 1/13/15: bar has been sold! Still have the rack

Hey guys I came across a 2008 pitbull Sissy Bar and luggage Rack. I picked it up as I know these are rare so I'm hoping someone can use them.

The luggage rack is in perfect shape just a few light scratches due to a bag being on it. $200 shipped I think is fair? I have never seen 280 luggage racks on eBay, so hopefully someone could use this.

The Sissy Bar on the other hand was in an accident and was/is bent. Although I think a little heat and you can bring it back into shape. Would need to be sent off for chrome NOTICE where heat was applied . I did apply some heat to bend it almost back but it could still use some work. Considering I don't own a bike this will fit I didn't want to try shaping it anymore since I didn't want to make it so it doesn't sit right.

I've never seen a 2008 pitbull in person I actually haven't the slightest clue how this mounts on the struts

I am not so sure that is a Big Dog part. I am sure some one will tell me I am wrong. Won't be the first time this year. My wife owns that trophy.

The luggage rack fits so that would be odd considering the luggage rack is BDM. I'll have to search for the 08 Pit bull pictire and look at the strut mounts.

Just googled and found the perfect picture ! There Is a female in it!

Anyways, you can see it looks like it goes between the strut and fender somehow. Whoever owns one should know, I sure hope you don't have to take the struts off to get the bar off/on man that would be a pain. I assume they slide in?

Frank my apologies for not getting this posted sooner. It's spot on 13" from the inside of each mounting bracket. Considering it needs new chrome or a powdercoat you can probably heat and bend it 1/2" either way pretty easy.

I saw this thread today and this is what I saw when I looked for one. it seems as if you have to buy a similar strut but ones that have the mount that allows the bar to seat on top of it but has a bore through it to allow the bolt to secure it from the bottom.

kinda dumb to not build them all with the struts the same if you wished to add on a sissy bar but we all know how the thinking is all about the cash.......
